Yudo is just one more example that you can find great things wherever you go if you look hard enough:

"Yudo, a duet from Bogota is made up of Raúl Suárez and “Yeyo” (Marco Camacho). Sharing a common interest in music, the duo decided to join forces for this new project whose creative process has defied the barrier of distance with countless chats, servers and long distance conversations spanning across Miami, Bogota and Montreal where their sound engineer and co-producer, Pablo Villegas resides. Heavy on pop and electro, their sound is a result of many years of musical references of all sorts, and the constant search for that vanguard style that is gradually gaining influence in the hispanic community. The first work of Yudo entitled “Stereo Personal” is an EP with four original themes and 4 remixes of artists such as DGeral & Zokram (Venezuela), Androide (México), Femme y Sexy Lucy (Colombia), all renown in the latin american indie circle. The team put to practice their artistic and technical skills to develop new versions that enriched the contents of this production. “Stereo Personal” was launched in September 2006 in Bogotá in several live performances that saw the two musicians together for the first time in public. Yudo is currently working on two other videos for its singles “Velocidad” and “Diablo”. The duo is also busy recording other themes for their first LP scheduled for release in 2007. "

Not from Johannesburg, but great music from South Africa,

"Gazelle is a small but colorful part of the African Renaissance promoting the growth and world view of any African born art. The group was born in 2006 following a long journey of discovery in music. Xander Ferreira, the founding member, started his journey as a reggae singer known as the White Lion. He performed in various cities around Europe including, Copenhagen, Berlin, Zurich and Milan. Gazelle had it's breath of life when Xander started experimenting with producing electronic bedroom music. Mixing an element of Reggae Dub and Electro something fresh was found. Most recently Nick Matthews from bands such as Coda and the Iridium project has joined forces to create a international standard of production. At the moment Gazelle is planting a seed in the music scene in Cape Town, waiting for the roots to spread through Africa and the world. Starting on the southern tip and working it's way up in the world... The focus is to create authentic Afrikan Elektronik Dance Musik. A full length album is in the production line."
